No one does a Dump valve for the Laguna II at the mo and likewise with the Induction kit! Universal ones with cold air feeds work wonders though!

I do know an old member with a Lag II Turbo contacted Demon Tweeks about a unversal fitment dump valve for his car Wink

dump valve woes

Hi,
after many days of hunting websites and emailing various car part online shops, I got a reply from forgemotorsport.co.uk.
They gave me some links to a suitable dump valve which (they say) will be suitable for my '04 Laguna 2.0 turbo....
dump valve info HERE www.forgemotorsport.co.uk
And Blanking Plate info HEREwww.forgemotorsport.co.uk

Im not looking forward to fitting it as im a complete NOOB with turbo's. Hopefully someone out there will post a msg here with some useful tips...?

Ive done a fair bit to my laguna since last posting;
Complete 5.1 sound system installed (2 amps + 1 sub), JVC KD-AVX33 Head Unit), Alpine centre speaker, Pioneer Door speakers, Alpine 6x9's, 160GB USB Hdd (for music & movies), 9" TFT Headrest Screen (for my wee boy to watch spongebob squarepants), Snooper radar detector, Garmin GPS, K&N air filter, black lexus rear lights.
Bits still to do but are in the pipeline;
Koni shocks & spring kit (lying here in a box waiting to be fitted!)
PSG Combat II bodykit (in transit from mainland UK)
Re-mapping (cant do until exhaust is fitted)
duplex exhaust system (cant do until bodykit is fitted)

will be complete by the end of the summer Sad

cheers

Some advise

Koni shocks & spring kit

Dont set them to low to start with, when your body kit arrives and its fitted the front end will be sooooo low, i had to raise mine 40mm just to get it out of the body shop and on to the main road

PSG Combat II bodykit (in transit from mainland UK)

Holding your breath are you,,,,I have had a new front bumper on order for the last 5 weeks and its still not hear, you got to keep bugging Tony at PSG, or if you got it from a supplier bug them.

Its nice to see some one who wants to go that little bit more, i have had the body kit on mine for about 1 1/2 years now and you wont like speed humps when its fitted. the front end has been repaired several times as well as the rear end.

I hear the modified sceen is preety big over there with shows and meets all the time.

STOP!!! Pjama Time Wink

I have that exact 'forge' dump valve in my possesion which i'm trying to sell. It came off my Volvo engine originally. It's gor a few dinks on it but is in perfect working order. I was going to put it back on my car however there said to lose power if used on my particular engine.

Most people here have seen the dump valve, i showed them it at the FCS. I'm suprised no one remembered Confused lol.

PM me if your interested

Hi, thanks for info. I will bring a few mates when collecting the car to lift it out, lol. Didnt think the PSG kit was as low as that (only had some small pictures to look at on their website). The Koni kit will be using Cobra springs as i believe the koni springs drops the front by 40mm but the Cobra only drops the front by 30mm. Hopefully 10mm will be enough to clear the first speed bump i find .... Sad (trust me, the humps here are well high !!) ...* those fecking joyriders for getting them put here !! lol.

yes, there are quite a few "meets" over here. i havent been to any yet...wouldnt look good turning up in a bog standard laguna!! Smile Smile
Once she's finished i will go to one just for a bit of fun.

cheers

At the FCS i was speaking to a member of the 'Renault Turbo Owners Club' and he suggested that if i take the standard re-circ dump valve off then not only do i get a flutter sound instead of the woosh, but i can obtain more boost pressure due to the original dump valve leaking air at low power. But when i showed him the 'forge' dump valve he strongly advised me not to fit it as i the engine already has one. I don't think its anything to do with the valve itself it's just because i already have one fitted as standard. Very Happy

Shame you already got one as i'm struggling to sell this one, i thought my luck had just rolled in lol Wink

u take the original renault one of first matey and use the blanking plate to block the hole where the original one re-circulated back into the intake thats all..the problem with dumpvalves come when you have a airflow meter between the dumpvalve and the inlet.what happens is on tickover the dumpvalve will be open therefor giving the incorrect reading from the airflow meter and that causes the car to stall...hope this helps....ohhh and by the way if anyone tells u that u will loose performance by fitting one kick them in the nads and tell them they dont no what they are on about like wise you wont get no gain either but it will help the turbo last longer and it helps get rid of turbo stall...But by all means if the dumpvalve is fitted wrong it could loose performance due to boost leak.again you have to have the right spring fitted too.try and stay away from dumpvalves that use a diaghram..and i dont advise not having one at all because that fluttering sound you get is because the wastegate is opening and closing quickly and the turbo pressure has no where to go so it trys to go back threw the turbo..not a good idea and thats what they call turbo stall..in servere cases it has been known for the blades on the compressor wheel in the turbo to fail...again hope this helps Very Happy Very Happy

Hi, me again. Well you where right about PSG, its a NO-SHOW with the bodykit. I have had to involve a Solicitor as they arent responding. effectively, they have stole £800 from me and im pursuing 1st through "legal" means.

In a better note, i did finally get the forge dump valve fitted to my 2.0L Laguna Turbo. bit of surgery involved though. Got a piece of piping made, the bit that comes over the top of the engine and down behind the radiator to the intercooler. I hope i have it on right...? its "wHOooOSHING" as expected but i think there is a slight performance reduction. I had the car re-mapped prior to fitting the dump-valve and i dont think its pulling just the same now...mnnn? Can someone confirm if , simply closing off the vacuum pipe from the T-piece on the main line and rejoining the main line to the dump-valve, correct ? or is that a bad thing ...? there is no stalling and car idles as normal so i am under the impression its ok but hopefully you guys can confirm this Wink

i gave up on the suspension since Koni coil-overs are the only option and a bit over my budget. Installed the lowering-springs instead. also, got all the ICE installed , 5.1 sounds great in the car !! and my wee lad enjoys his 9"lcd headrest dvd player too.

cheers guys for the help. maybe if one of you live near PSG Bodystyling, could go round and wag the finger at them...? lol!! Hopefully i will get my money back at least and try elsewhere.

if someone could confirm the vacuum query, that would be great. cheers.
I can post photos of the fitted dump valve if that helps ?

Could you post a picture mate that would definately help, I was told not to put an atmospheric dump valve on my engine as it doesn't do it any good, it could be the same with your engine.
