I dont like the Veyron.
Gordon Murray sums it up nicely (although as the designer of the McLaren F1, his view may be biased...)
"The most pointless exercise on the planet has got to be this four-wheel-drive 1000 horsepower Bugatti. I think it’s incredibly childish this thing people have about just one element—top speed, standing kilometre or 0-60. It’s about as narrow minded as you can get as a car designer to pick on one element. It’s like saying we’re going to beat the original Mini because we’re going to make a car 10 mph faster on its top speed—but it's two foot longer and 200 kilos heavier. That’s not car designing—that just reeks of a company who are paranoid.
Well said that man!
JB
EDIT: And gordon, its 1001PS, not bhp. Its actually only 987bhp
Ill take the gorgeous Koenigsegg CCRX anyday over that ugly monstrosity

That Gordon Murray aint got a bl00dy clue He is only hurt because VW designed a car that smashed every record that McLaren F1 car had set!!
Poor loser!!
Veyron for me is one of the most beautiful and exciting cars ever built!!

You can think what you like about the Veyron, childish, pointless blah blah blah, BUT
take a moment to sit back and admire it as a piece of engineering, its ruddy marvelous!

Sorry. no sale.
It is "as a piece of engineering" why I dislike it so much. I studied Automotive Engineering at uni for two years before I called it a day, and Gordon Murray is spot on. Theyve put the biggest engine they could feasibly fit on the chassis and then stuck FOUR turbos on it!!!!! where is the finesse?
An 8 litre quad-turbo W-16 engine, you chop those turbos off and what do you think it'd run? 500? 600?. You gave a ferrari engineer that engine and id put money on them churning out at least 800bhp before even thinking of putting a turbo on it.
Plus it was marketed as a car with 1001bhp, which is simply not the case. Liars!
And its ugly as sin.... not unlike the EB110... who ever wanted an ugly supercar?

I agree with John.......I've seen one in the flesh and it looks awesome
The exterior design is excellent, interior is out of this world with titanium stalks etc!
A hyper car
