......let me explain.
Went to Asda today, picked up some shopping as well as my contact lenses from the in store opticians. After I left I was enjoying quite a pleasurable steady drive back on the motorway, driving mainly in the inside lane, when I came across a number of lorries. 2 miles to the junction the sat nav said, so I pulled out to overtake. As the junction got closer the traffic suddenly built up. I needed to come off at this junction, coming off a the next one meant driving through town which would be nightmare. Anyway, the traffic was doing about 50-60mph and I indicated to pull in from the outside lane. Despite the speed, the cars in the middle lane were travelling bunched up as if to say "You shall not pass" and the car just to the rear of me in the middle lane (a dark blue volvo) gave no indication as to it's intentions and with the junction looming I decided to pull across into the inside lane. As I did, I realised the reason for the sudden build up in traffic was roadworks which actually meant the inside lane was closed just before the junction, which meant that I needed to pull out in to the middle lane again, so I indicated and, with the same car in the middle lane a bit further back now I pulled in to the middle lane.
There was a gap in the roadworks to come off at the junction so I did. I noticed that the car I had 'cut across' came off too but with my 'road rage temper' now in check, compared to my younger days, I decided to ignore him. We both turned left at the junction roundabout and after about 600 yards I went straight on at the next roundabout thinking nothing more of it. Suddenly I glance up into my rear view mirror and noticed the same volvo was now right up my @rse, again I just ignored it but when I glanced up 2 seconds later only to see that he was still right up my @rse I decided to floor it, a bad habit that I still have from my younger days. Anyway, the volvo finaly caught up at the lights at the next roundabout. And as it pulled up behind me I noticed the lights in the grill and the flourescent jacket worn by the driver, and that's when I thought "Oh dear" (or something to that effect)
Anyway, we continued on and when the lights came on, as expected, I pulled over.
The conversation started as much as anyone who has been pulled over by the police would expect.
Police Oficer "You know why i've pulled you over, don't you"
Me "I have a fair idea, yes"
Then, it just went down hill. You see, I have an affliction, I know not of any name for the affliction I have, none the less, I have it!
I HATE POLICE OFFICERS!
Generally because they are all arrogant bullies who think they are above the law, and this one was not about to do anything but prove this fact.
When asked why I cut across him on the motorway I asked the question back "Why were you refusing to indicate wether or not you were letting me in?" and "Why were you travelling within a cars length of the car in front at 60 mph on the motorway?" Plod's response to this questioning was......well, I think you can imagine.
I was summoned into the unmarked police car were I was promptly informed by the judge.....sorry, police officer, that I was going to lose my license for 'this'.
I was given a producer and told that I would be reported for the offence of speeding in a 50mph limit. As I opened the door and got out of the car, I asked the officer if I could borrow his pen, to which the reply was "No". So, leaving the passenger door open I went to take a photo of the unmarked car to record the reg no. The officer got out of the car and asked me "What are you doing that for?" So, I told him that I was going to be reporting him for the rather innapropriate habit of his for driving far to close to the vehicle in front at speed.
Again, his response was not good. "Fine, then in that case i'll be reporting you for the offence of driving without due care and attention also". Seeing that this was going nowhere I decided to leave and at this point the officer starting hurling his verbal abuse "People like you shouldn't be allowed to have a license" and "You're a sad man" we're among the taunts. I got into my car and realised the memory card was not in my phone so it did not save the photo, so I waited for him to leave so I could record the reg no.
I appreciate that most of you will prob think i'm a fool for arguing with the police. I'm quite sure that as a result i'll get banned from driving and that there will be no consequences for the officer after his antics, but like I said, I have an affliction.
I also know that some of my driving decisions could have been better judged, but nobody's perfect, right ?
I would be interested to hear any opinions you guys have though.......
p.s. After seeing the news today I can only thank god that he did not carry a tazer, otherwise I expect it would've been used!

Well all I can say is you know you don't have to pull over for unmarked cars, neither do you have to talk to them if you want to ring up plod and confirm who he is first, shouldn't think they'd like that
Oh no Ray, let us know how you get on

Sometimes you just gotta give as good as you get.
I'd probably have done the same thing I too, have very little time for Plods like that. I'd say that overall, they have actually been helpful/pleasant to us in less than 50% of our encounters. Not really a good result eh
Did he amend the producer when he started ranting or is it just for what he originally stated

I have alot of respect for the police, but not for traffic cops. Normal bobbies on the beat dont generally bother motorists and they put up with alot of sh1t from yobbo's, but traffic cops can be complete A-holes!!
But..... You didnt help yourself Ray, not long after i passed my test i got tugged by an unmarked car on the motorway who clocked me at over 100Mph, he could of easily taken my license, but he let me off with a stiff talking to. I put that purely down to me co-operating and kissin his butt!!!
Then again, i did nearly get arrested when i got given a parking ticket by a cop in London and he then allowed someone to park infont of me on the double yellows..... and that was ok coz they were "popping to the bank!!"

Sorry to hear about that mate! So do you already have some endorcements that would mean you get a ban or is this offence enough to warrant a ban on its own in their eyes?

Well, here's the thing. I got 3 points in June (It's not been a good year ) and when I did I had 6 points on my licence 3 of which were nearly 4 years old, which worried me a little. When I took my license in to the police station the guy at the desk said that when the 3 points were 4 years old, they would still be on my license but wouldn't actually account for anything, and would come off the licence in another year, which was a relief.
However, for now, they are still on my license. So, if I trust what the guy at the police station said, then as long as I only get 3 points I should be ok???? But if he was wrong then that would mean I now have 9 points, that all count, and another 3 would be 12

Is it not a case of 12 points in 12 months warrants a ban
By the time this probably comes to court, your existing points might be off anyway, or ............ the CPS might decide there's not enough evidence to proceed anyway Fingers crossed eh
Are you gonna report him to his superiors or do you think it'll just make things worse I would, as there's no need for him to behave in this manner. He is, after all, a public servant.

Ray all i will say is
If he amended the producer and not your copy i would
1st ask to see a copy of his in case he did alter it
2nd, if it was, it won’t stand in a law of court and he can fist him self big style.
I got done several years ago and was given a producer, there was no date on mine but there was on his, it eventually went to court and i produced my copy and as his was blatantly amended i got away with the offence.
