my new car (sort of)

I started my new job today as depot supervisor for Serco local government in sudbury (suffolk) and so had to pick up my company wheels at the same time.

Its a ford ranger 4x4 double cab TDCI thingy. Now I'm really not a fan of fords but I have to say it goes like hell! I drove it for the first time on the way home tonight and its genuinely difficult to stay within speed limits (didn't want a nick on the first day on the job and all that) Tickover in 5th is over 30mph
Its so tailhappy though its untrue! 140bhp and no weight over the rear wheels it drifts like a good-un. Its the base model yet its still got 4x leccy windows, mp3 stereo and aircon, I couldn't believe it. Oh & its got lovely flashing lights on the top. lol

Don't know if I'll be accepting it as a personal vehicle or not until I find out how much it'd cost me a month so I may well be staying with the Lag if its as expensive as I expect it to be but its nice to have something that new, & surprisingly nice, even if only for a few days before declaring it a pool car and just using it for work.

They are big buggers they are, my mate had one, but only cos he was 26/7 stone and needed a big truck to drive around in, he went to weight watchers and lost a load of weight and now is about 18

I know, I suspect I rather intimidated a micra on the way home! They were doing 40 in a 60 and I think I saw the old boy flinch when he checked his rear view for the first time in about 5 miles & saw a big white grille there Twisted Evil
